Shamus Mick

This Exciting Band

Have been playing together for over ten years, and if you are yet to encounter them, then they are probably the best band you have never heard of!

All of them are highly accomplished musicians and as a band have been steadily earning a reputation across the country for playing Rock influenced Celtic Music (traditional Irish & Scottish) in a hard edged, fast and cheeky style.

With an outlandish stage show

which is both extremely visual and very amusing they deliver a high energy set encompassing super fast jigs and reels, enigmatic Celtic melodies, powerful folk rooted songs and a whole heap of rock attitude.

Poundin Paul

Whipping up a storm

among the assembled crowd, where audience participation is insisted upon, and frenzied dancing and serious foot stomping is the norm. You ain't seen nothing like this!

Mad Mel

Appealing To All Ages And Tastes

A crowd favourite wherever they play, young, old, or anything in between, these boys have something for everyone. The older generation may not know much about the latest underground dance craze, but they sure know a foot tapping jig when they hear one. Youngsters who may have never before encountered Celtic music, can't fail to be amused by the sight of some nutter bounding about the stage head-butting a tambourine, wearing Lycra tights and a multicoloured tasselled jumper that looks like an explosion in a chicken factory or be intoxicated by the infectious nature of Celtic heart-throbbing rhythms.

Exploding onto the stage

looking like four real-life cartoon characters, and enlisting people from the audience to play the tambourine, it's not uncommon to see blue-rinse grannies dancing arm in arm with punk rockers or leather clad bikers dancing with middle-aged housewives at a Shamus gig.
